King’s Oak Principal on BBC Radio Five Live

A new law coming into force this school term is set to reduce the number of branded school uniform items parents in England are required to purchase, with the Government expecting the changes to help families save money.

Under the new rules, school uniforms will be limited to three branded items featuring a school logo, such as a blazer, jumper or sportswear. For secondary school pupils, a school tie may also be required.

The changes are intended to make school uniform more affordable for families and reduce the pressure associated with purchasing expensive branded items from specialist suppliers.

Katherine Ogden, Principal of King’s Oak Academy, recently joined a debate on BBC Radio 5 Live to discuss the new law and its potential impact on schools, parents and pupils.
