Additional Information
Jewellery – please note that students will be allowed to wear one earring stud in each ear and a watch on their wrist. Students that are wearing multiple studs/hoop earrings will be instructed to remove them.
Nose/lip/eyebrow/tongue piercings – During the holiday period, your child might ask whether they can have an additional piercing. Please be aware that all piercings other than one stud per ear are not permitted and students will be instructed to remove them before attending lessons. If your child already has an additional piercing that is not permitted and is unable to remove this, they must wear a clear, plastic stud. No metal or coloured variations will be accepted.
PE Lessons Fixtures and Extra-Curricular Sporting Events
All jewellery must be removed for PE lessons, fixtures and extra-curricular sporting events. This is in line with the guidance from the Association for Physical Education (AfPE) aimed at ensuring the safety of all students during physical activities. Jewellery includes earrings, necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings, and any other forms of piercings.
The safety of our students is our top priority, and this measure is designed to prevent injuries that can occur when jewellery is worn during physical activities. This will include all Physical Education lessons, fixtures and extra-curricular regardless of activity.
Further information can be found on our uniform policy below.
Waterproof Jackets – We continue to encourage students to bring a waterproof coat. Alternative, non-waterproof jackets (e.g. fluffy / leather / zip up hoodies) are not an acceptable form of waterproof jacket. If students are wearing non-uniform, non-waterproof jackets/tops, they will be stored in Main Reception for collection at the end of the day. Hoodies are not permitted in school. Uniform support: We know that for some families, the cost of uniform can be a challenge. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please email [email protected], call 01179 927 127 or come to either Reception area so that our team can find a way to help and support you and your child.
