King’s Oak Academy Year 8 students excel in M&G Enterprise Challenge
The entire Year 8 cohort at King’s Oak Academy recently participated in the exciting M&G Enterprise Challenge, an initiative designed to develop business and teamwork skills through a real-world project.
Students worked collaboratively in groups to plan a large-scale concert for 10,000 attendees, tackling key aspects of event management such as market research, budgeting and finance, marketing and branding, stage design, and persuasive pitching to potential investors.
One student shared their enthusiasm for the challenge, stating: “I want to be a building engineer, and I’m learning many valuable skills that will benefit me in my future career.”
Throughout the challenge, students demonstrated outstanding teamwork, creativity, and communication skills, working together to bring their concert plans to life.
The project not only developed entrepreneurial thinking but also helped build confidence in public speaking and decision-making.
A spokesperson for King’s Oak Academy said: “We are incredibly proud of our Year 8 students for their dedication and enthusiasm during the M&G Enterprise Challenge.
“The skills they have developed – problem-solving, financial planning, and persuasive communication – will serve them well in their future studies and careers.”
Well done to all Year 8 students for their hard work and innovation!
