King’s Oak Academy students impress at IET Faraday challenge
A team of six talented Year 8 students from King’s Oak Academy recently participated in the prestigious IET Faraday Challenge held at the School of Engineering at UWE.
The challenge tasked students with designing and creating an educational toy for children.
Equipped with a detailed design brief, the students collaborated effectively to develop a creative solution.
They worked together to construct their product before presenting their concept to teams from other schools.
Throughout the event, the King’s Oak Academy team demonstrated exceptional teamwork, efficiently assigned roles within their group, and communicated their ideas with clarity and confidence.
Although they did not take home the winning title, their outstanding effort, resilience, and positive attitude were truly commendable.
Laura Phillips, Associate Assistant Principal for STEM, praised the students, saying: “Congratulations to our Year 8 team for their outstanding efforts.
“They represented King’s Oak Academy with pride and displayed remarkable determination and creativity throughout the challenge.”
