As the UK prepares for a major enforcement phase of the Online Safety Act beginning 25 July, concerns remain about the effectiveness of measures aimed at shielding young people from harmful online content.
Under the new rules, websites and online platforms will be required to revamp their algorithms and implement stringent age verification systems, or risk facing significant fines from media regulator Ofcom.
