Year 7/8 Information

Teachers

In Years 7 and 8, we have subject-specialist teachers for each lesson, but we do also have teachers whose job it is to look after us especially: our Head of Year, and our Tutors.

Support

We are very lucky to also have a wider team of adults in Years 7 and 8 who help us grow socially, emotionally and academically.  They help us to develop the skills we will need to have a positive view of ourselves; to form and maintain successful relationships and to contribute, as  positive members of society.

Our spaces

You can usually find us all over the Middle School and Upper School site: we move to a different classroom for every lesson because we access specialist spaces every day.  From Science to DT and Music to Health and Wellbeing (including cooking!), we utilise all of the school spaces to best support our learning.

In Years 7 and 8, we need to bring a bag to school with us: we need to carry our equipment for the day from room to room with us.  Equipment we need includes our water bottle, reading book, pen, pencil, ruler, rubber etc.  We also need to bring our KOA PE kit on PE days, and any food for break or lunch (we are also able to buy food from the canteen during these times).  During social times, we are able to move around site, sit in the canteen, access the LRC or use the Middle School playground if we would like somewhere a little quieter, though we can only eat in the canteen or outside.
