2018 GCSE Results

Following on from the Acorn’s positive Early Years and KS1 results from before the summer, at Key stage 4 we are pleased with our growth and improvement in some key subject areas which shows an improving trajectory.

Notable performances from our students include: Beth O’Brien, Marton Handa, Elliot Tomkings, Megan McNiven, Victoria Hannant, and Dominic Verstraeten

Students that also deserve a particular recognition are India James-Iyalla and Thomas Hopkins for exceptional progress across a range of subjects.

The majority of student taking combined science gained at least a grade 4, whilst in the BTEC subjects of Business, Music and Sports Studies the students’ average grade was a merit. Product Design students averaged a B grade and in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Religious Studies, students averaged a grade 5.

Richard Clutterbuck Principal said, “We are very proud of our students who have secured grades that will allow them to move onto Post 16 courses of their choosing. Their grit, determination and drive will ensure both a strong foundation on which to build, and gives students real choice in their progression to the next stage of their education.”
